Charles Dobbins is a senior at High Point University studying interior design and marketing. He came to HPU to study interior design and began his minor in marketing and sales at the beginning of his sophomore year. Exposure to these subjects sparked a considerable interest in different aspects of the industry, which is something he desires to pursue post graduation.

 

Charles grew up in a small town called Lyons, just outside of Syracuse, New York, where he learned the importance of connecting with people. Ever since he was young, he always had an interest in the way people decorate and design their homes. This inspired him to pursue his interest and study Interior Design at High Point University. Over the past two summers he was lucky enough to intern with Thom Filicia Interior Design firm in Manhattan and Douglas Elliman Real Estate in East Hampton, NY. While at both of these firms he was introduced into a very fast pace and new environment. He was forced to adjust quickly to these workplaces, and is happy to say he learned a lot. These experiences have left him with an “eye” that makes him confident he would be useful in any work environment.
